2016 Conference

“Reconstructing Nations, Reinventing People, and Reforming Societies”

The History Graduate Student Association at Florida State University is pleased to host the 8th Annual Southeast Regional Graduate Student Conference on March 16th, 2016 in Tallahassee, Florida. The theme for the conference is “Reconstructing Nations, Reinventing People, and Reforming Societies.” The conference will examine aftermaths and new beginnings, and investigate how individuals, societies, ideas, and boundaries evolve throughout time. We aim to expand our understanding of this theme with an interdisciplinary approach including but not limited to the fields of Anthropology, Education, Gender and Sexuality, History, Literature, Modern Languages and Linguistics, Psychology, Religion, and the Visual Arts.

Keynote Speech

We are pleased to announce that noted diplomatic and military Professor Gerhard Weinberg, of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, will present the keynote speech.

Additional Information for Presenters


Each room will be equipped with a Windows-based computer, screen, and sound system. We strongly encourage presenters to email PowerPoints, etc. before the conference or to bring a flash drive with the presentation on it.

 

 

Parking


Most Florida State Parking Lots are reserved for FSU students, faculty, and staff until about 4:30/5:00PM on Fridays. Lots are clearly marked with when parking rules are in effect.
